The press conference was held on 16 March, 2016 sharing the results of the Diaspora Conference & Job Fair conducted in Germany, Frankfurt am Main
The press conference was held on 16, March 2016 at Tbilisi Marriot Hotel. Deputy Head of Government Administration, Ms. Nino Kobakhidze, Senior Advisor of the Centre for International Migration and Development, Dr. Irma Tsereteli and Chief Advisor to the State Minister of Georgia on Diaspora Issues, Ms. Nino Matiashvili shared the results of the Diaspora Conference & Job Fair which took place in Germany, Frankfurt am Main on March 10 and 11.
As it was highlighted by the private sector representatives/state officials participating in the events, the conference and job fair had a very positive feedback. Moreover, the Diaspora Conference opened the way to explore the potential and possible actions for Diasporas to engage in development. On the other hand the Job Fair offered a unique opportunity for Georgian migrants, in order to exchange and share ideas with potential employers. There was a desire and readiness expressed during the press conference to address the donor and international organizations for supporting the implementation of such events for the Georgian Diaspora also in other countries, out of which Italy, Greece and Spain were mentioned as priorities.
The event is a part of a project “Strengthening the Development Potential of the EU Mobility Partnership in Georgia through Targeted Circular Migration and Diaspora Mobilization” funded by the European Union and co-funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
