Whereas the Georgians working in the hospitality sector are already in Germany for a few weeks now, the health-care professionals arrived in Munich only yesterday. After having taken part in language courses and preparatory meetings back home, they are now fit to make the next step in their career abroad.

Return and reintegration of Georgians residing abroad are perceived to be of exceptional importance when implementing labor migration programs and projects in Georgia. For this reason, a 2-day workshop within the EU-financed project “Strengthening the Development Potential of the EU Mobility Partnership in Georgia through Targeted Circular Migration and Diaspora Mobilization” was held on 19-20 March and was dedicated to this thematic field. The project is run by the Center for International Migration (CIM), Public Service Development Agency and Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Georgia (GSMEA).

On March 6-7, 2015 Georgian participants interested to found an enterprise in Georgia attended a start-up-information seminar in Frankfurt. The seminar was organized in the training premises of the start-up consultancy firm “KOMPASS Zentrum für Existenzgründungen”. In the frame of the seminar, participants had the opportunity to explore their potential in developing their own businesses as entrepreneurs.

The seminar is organized by the Center for international migration and development (CIM). From 10 to 12 February the “Winter school on migration policy and development” was held at Kvareli Training Center of Justice, in Georgia. The 3 day event was part of the migration policy advice activities of the project “Strengthening the development potential of the EU mobility partnership in Georgia through targeted circular migration and diaspora mobilization”.

From 9 to 12 February the “winter school on migration policy and development” will be held at Kvareli training Center of Justice, in Georgia. The 3 day winter school is part of the project component on migration policy advice. The aim of the winter school is to bring together the representatives of Georgian state agencies, as well as private sector stakeholders who are active in migration field and explore and develop ideas within the scope of migration & development.

On Saturday 13 December, nursing as well as hotel and restaurant professionals preparing to leave for temporary employment and training in Germany in the frame of a pilot circular migration scheme (PCMS) participated in an information event on opportunities expected to arise upon return to Georgia: with regard to employment, with regard to start-up of business and social enterprises, as well as with regard to knowledge-transfer by means of becoming a trainer.

On Saturday 6 December, the professionals of the nursing and tourism sector from Georgia selected as participants of the pilot circular migration scheme with Germany trained in migration-specific financial literacy.
